I’m a software engineer with ten years of experience. My recent work has been in carbon tech doing product engineering. It is a space full of mapping and operational hurdles, where you deal with all kinds of users.
Carbon methodology is a whole different game. The challenges change depending on where you operate, and the technology approach has to adapt right along with it. Honestly, I really enjoyed interacting with different users, brainstorming their daily problems, and collaborate on building digital solutions to solve them.
Experience & skills
Before carbon tech, I worked on payments compliance, CRMs, wearables, and real-time chat infrastructure.
The chat side was really interesting. I got to tackle two completely different scaling problems. In one case, I witnessed the platform grow to its first 100K users in a B2B setup. In the other, the massive traffic volume was completely disconnected from the actual number of people online.
And then of course, I’ve also spent time working across payments, compliance, CRMs, wearables, and so on.
I’ve worked at both startups and big multinational companies, and the contrast taught me a lot. Startups give you the chance to build new products, systems, and pipelines from scratch. Big companies already have the processes and tools in place. At that scale, with huge teams across different verticals, the job is just as much about collaborating as it is about the code itself.
My go-to stack is mostly TypeScript/NestJS and Java/Spring, with some Erlang/OTP and Python.
Interests
I’m drawn to distributed systems, messaging stacks, deterministic and non-deterministic workflows, GIS, AI tools and trends, hardware tinkering, and music.
Blog
This blog is mostly tech-focused, but I also use it to write about whatever else is on my mind. You might find posts on arts, culture, music, hobbies, etc. That might mean talking about digital audio workstations and sound synthesis, or hiking, or just everyday thoughts.
